Work experience

I am currently director of Firma and Human Experience Design. In my personal capacity I teach part-time at the University of Johannesburg and conduct my academic research through the same institution.

I began my career in 1997 designing information architectures in Cape Town with various companies including Ogilvy Interactive. I then left to work in London for three years, again working in agencies including Lowes, Agency.com and Ogilvy Interactive. I returned to my home town of Johannesburg in 2004 and soon after started jh-01 / Human Experience Design which I continue to run. In September 2013 I moved to London to assist Nomensa (Bristol) in growing their business and opening a London office based on service propositions born of the last five years of research I have been conducting. Firma was founded in 2015 by myself and Terence Fenn.
